STEP 3: Then at the opened page, click at the “नए विधुत सम्बंधित आवेदन में बदलाव करे / अपना आवेदन पूरा करें” link to open the page to modify Har Ghar Bijli Yojana Registration Form and update consumer details.

STEP 4: Here applicants can enter the Request Number and click at the “Get OTP” button to modify Har Ghar Bijli Yojana Form.

Bihar Har Ghar Bijli Yojana Objectives

The main objective of Har Ghar Bijli Yojana is to provide free electricity connection to every household in the state. Households which do not yet have electricity connection will be covered under this scheme. The state government has set a target of providing electricity connections to 50 lakh households under the Har Ghar Bijli Yojana. The Har Ghar Bijli Yojana was the last of the 7 schemes to be launched under the Saat Nischay Yojana. About 50% APL (above poverty line) families in rural Bihar who do not have electricity connection will be covered under the free electricity connection scheme. The BPL families in the state are already being covered under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana of the Central Government.

Cost of Connection under Har Ghar Bijli Yojana

Under the scheme, connections will be given free of cost, no fee will be charged from the beneficiaries. However, the electricity consumption bill will have to be paid by the beneficiaries as usual. If any person does not want to take electricity connection, then he will have to give in writing with reasons.

Har Ghar Bijli Yojana has been launched in the state to fulfill the promise of improving the power situation in the state and improving the overall lifestyle. Per capita consumption in Bihar has increased from 70 units in 2005 to 256.3 kWh units at present. This scheme will surely help in lighting many houses and contribute to the overall development of Bihar state.
